![]() Of course, some images may require a zero feather. The feather just gives it less of a sharp cut so it doesn’t look so fake which it can tend to do if you don’t add a feather. You’ll also notice above it on the top menu you will see the word ‘Feather’Ĭlick into that and add 1 so that we get a small blur around the edge of our moon image. You can now grab your Elliptical Marquee Tool from the side menu. This now means that you can click on them and drag measurement lines from the top and side.ĭo that twice so that they are positioned just like mine below so that they are on the top and edge of the moon. ![]() You’ll no notice that the measurements have appeared around the edges of your workspace. We are going to do that using the ‘Elliptical Marquee Tool’įirst, if you don’t have them activated, go to ‘View’ and click on ‘Rulers’ Right, so the first thing I’m going to do is crop the moon out and then add it to our main image. Or if you are happy with it the way it is then cool, use that one. I’ll show you how to make it blend in better. If we wish to at the time we can change the general tone to it so don’t worry if it looks too white. Now for the moon image, all you have to do is just pick a nice full bodied moon. I do have a solution for this and I’m going to show you.Īlso, note the this will only work with very soft clouds if the clouds are very strong and defined it won’t work at all.Īs I am doing this tutorial as we speak I may have to improvise on this issue as well! There is an issue with it though so it’s something I want you to look out for as well.īe careful with the buildings in your image because you can’t slap a moon on top of them in full sharpness as that would look very fake. Let’s do that now for ten minutes or so and before you do look at the images I got below.Įach with an explanation so makes sure to read that before you find yours. ![]() The first thing we must do for this tutorial is to get some suitable images to use. So that got me thinking about photography and how a picture would look great where I was with the full moon and all. It was out pretty early, it was out even before it got dark. ![]() Today I want to add a full day moon or an early full moon, whichever you want to call it to my image as it was a full moon this weekend for me where I live We want the stroke applied to the image and we don’t want the mask to have any effect on it – right now it is having an unwanted effect.Create A Simple Photo Composite To Improve Dusk Scenes In Photoshop Hi all, got a cool composite for you today to improve your dusk scenes. You’ll see that we have some problems with the mask because it distorts the stroke around the picture. With black as the foreground color, press Alt + Backspace (Option + Delete on the Mac), to fill the selected area on the mask with black. Then, with the selection in place, display the top layer and select its mask. One simple way to do this is to hide the photo layer and use a tool like the Quick Selection tool to select over the finger on the background layer. This makes the finger look like it is above the image and not behind it. Select a medium hard brush, set the foreground color to black and paint on the mask to reveal the finger on the underlying layer. With this image layer still selected, click the Add Layer Mask icon at the foot of the Layers palette. Set the position to Inside so you get square corners on the image (if you choose Center or Outside the corners will be rounded).Ħ. Set the color to white and the size to a size appropriate for your image. To add a white border around the image as if it were a photo stuck to the card, select the image layer, click the Add a Layer Style button at the foot of the Layers palette and choose Stroke.
